Katherine Heigl has revealed that she was brought up in a bubble of white and how this realization affected how she raised adopted multiracial kids. She revealed in an interview in the past that with regards to skin color there is no difference. After speaking with her adopted sister in South Korea she realized just the different ways society treats people of different races. "I inquired of Meg what she thought about being different when she went out with us parents than the times she was out on her own. Meg replied "Oh yes! All the time!" Heigl admitted to parents, "That made me realise how foolish I was." According to the actor, she was angered. But, she was determined to channel her anger into aiding her adopted daughters. Heigl is married to Josh Kelley for 13 years they have a son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is a Black 8-year old girl that they adopted in 2012.
