When I had a baby on me and others in the cradle, I worked 12 hours a day cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! We were getting closer to completing, however the project was still a way off. To complete this task, I was prepared to spend a considerable amount of money and time searching for the perfect home. In order to keep my budget in good shape, I went out with my three boys in search for bargains in estate sales. We used to go on a weekly basis of walking around garage sales and auctions on the weekend and purchase a range of old pieces and new constructed. It was my job to spend the day on the drive either painting or sanding. Furniture looked this way... and that's the place I discovered my love for restoration. Although our house was furnished, I could not put down. There was an area on the market in town in which I sold my items. Then, my collection got to the point that the space I had available was inadequate. My house was transformed into a space where I would host open houses. Up 1000 people would be able to view items from the first floor, and then purchase these items. Growing Days is the result of all this. Growing Days was not only an incredibly successful business, but as well my family. Finding the balance was important to me. I wanted to be a mom as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days just fit. Nora was born in 2013 and became our fourth baby. This was an excellent direction for my company, but I also needed some time off. I decided to take a break from making vintage furniture, and slowed down my pace and stayed at home to take care of the kids. It was what I wanted. It was only after several months that the phones started to be ringing. The people who called me were asking for help with the interior decoration and renovations. A majority of these were those who had walked through my home during the open house for furniture! Then I slowly took on more clients, according to my own pace. Soon I had multiple clients and I was running an enterprise of renovations to homes. When you first told me about my home renovation business I was astonished. As I reflect at it, it has made me laugh.
